GLOC Shootout Returns July 13-16

The performance boating world will again be focused on Grand Lake when the 3rd Annual GLOC Performance Boat Shootout returns this July 13th through the 16th, 2017.

Grand Lake is lucky to host an event like the GLOC Shootout, which attracts participants, sponsors and fans from throughout the country to Grand Lake.

The national brand recognition that the GLOC Shootout brings to Grand Lake was even recognized in 2016 by the Grand Lake Association with a Crystal Pelican Award as Grand Lake’s best promotion!

This year’s event features four days of fun and high speed performance boating excitement.

On Thursday evening the 13th, the popular Street Party returns to the Grove Civic Center where boating enthusiasts can get an up close look at the amazing machines and meet the owners and drivers.

Early indications are that the Civic Center parking lot will be FULL of performance boats and vendors, so this is a Street Party you don’t want to miss!

Look soon for exciting details on plans for Friday the 14th and a lake wide event that will bring the awesome shootout boats – as well as dozens of other performance boats – to all corners of Grand Lake from Sailboat Bridge to the Pensacola Dam. Stay tuned for more info on this.

Friday night, the 14th, features the return of the “Cruisin’ the Dock Party” to Lakeside Marina at the south end of Sailboat Bridge in Grove. Most of the Shootout boats will be docked at Lakeside Marina and this is the perfect chance to see these boats in ‘their element’ – the water!

And then on Saturday the 15th from 11 am to 5 pm and on Sunday the 16th from 10 am to 4 pm it is Shootout racing excitement just to the west of Sailboat Bridge.

This location provides wide open water for boats to raft-out and enjoy the day and also gives spectators that can’t get on the water the chance to watch the excitement from Sailboat Bridge.

Confirmed sponsors for the 2017 GLOC Shootout include DCB Boats/Cat’s Ass Racing, Performance Boat Center, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Bravo Shop, Floating Mats, Seneca-Cayuga Nation, Poly Lift Boat Lifts, travelok.com, Grand Lake Association, Grand Lake Casino and GrandLakeLiving.com.

And of course the event doesn’t take place without the cooperation and support of the Grand River Dam Authority.
