The annual Burning of the Socks celebration is planned for Saturday, May 6th, at Harbors View Marina.
Besides the bonfire, there will be live music, games, a photo booth, beverages, and walking tacos.
It’s a family-friendly event that kicks the summer season into gear on Grand Lake.
Here is more info:
Why are people burning their socks? Because it’s time to burn those socks and break out the flip flops, of course!
For the kiddos and those young at heart, sock puppet building station and a puppet theater will be on site.
If that wasn’t enough, Harbors View Marina has secured a “foot based” game for kids and adults alike to enjoy.
Harbors View Marina loves to give back and this year is no exception – PAWS animal rescue will be on hand, Cleora Fire Department and HVM will be collecting new socks to donate to the homeless.
Of course, there will be a large bonfire to burn your old winter socks.
Bud’s famous walking tacos and free keg beer will be on hand to make sure no one goes hungry or thirsty – plus Docks bar will be open for all those adult beverages that help you dance like the rock star.
Harbors View Marina’s events are always family friendly and this year it will have a rocking edge to the event, with a Dallas-based band, Thrown, entertaining the crowd.
Earlier in the day, lake lovers will have the opportunity to stock up on summer gear at the Nautical Flea Market. So, gather up your old socks and make plans to attend the Burning of the Socks on May 6th at Harbors View Marina located at 451107 East 320 Road in Afton, OK at the mouth of Duck Creek.
