Friday, July 14th is the inaugural Veterans Charity Troop Tour, which features a tour of Grand Lake from Lakeside Marina in Grove to the Pensacola Dam.
This event is open to EVERYONE…you do not need to be a GLOC Shootout participant or even have a performance boat.
The entry fee is $100.00 for Shootout participants (per boat) and $195 per boat for non-Shootout participants. And great prizes will be given away after the tour!
This is a charity event to support our troops and all funds after expenses that are raised by this event will go directly to the Combat Vets Association at http://www.cvmagroveok.org Oklahoma Chapter 10-5.
This chapter is a locally based 501-C3 organization of combat veterans that serves all veterans in need within a 75 mile radius of Grove, Oklahoma.
All participants will run as a group on a tour of Grand Lake, leaving from Lakeside Marina to the Pensacola Dam and back and will feature local on the water restaurants and marina facilities.
The entire group will proceed to the Pensacola Dam and will do an off plane parade pass around the end and then will once again on plane proceed back to Lakeside Marina.
If you would like to drop off on the way back and eat at a particular restaurant do so at this time.
As the lead boat approaches the desired location we have designated a “Tour” boat that will break off as the group approaches the course to a particular restaurant and you are welcome to follow this boat that will take you directly to the restaurant you have chosen.
All others will proceed back to Lakeside where they then can continue to enjoy the lake and the 3rd Annual GLOC Shootout.
Featured Troops Tour restaurants include Morrow’s Bar and Grill, Ugly’s Grill and Bar, Eddy’s Lakeside Bar at Shangri-La, the Quarterdeck Waterfront Cafe at Tera Miranda and The Parrot in Grove on Honey Creek.
Riggs Tree Service of Grove, OK is also a proud sponsor of the Troops Tour.
Participants that register for the tour will be entered into a drawing that will award great prizes for tickets drawn.
These will be awarded shortly after the Tour ends. Participants do not have to be present to win but will be contacted by phone and can pick their prize up at the “Information Center” at Lakeside Marina in Grove anytime during the GLOC Shootout event.
