July 20 @ 8:30 am - July 21 @ 3:30 pm

A Grand Adventure 2017 Day Camp

A Grand Adventure is an action-packed, two-day summer day camp for area youths to learn all things lake and stream, sponsored by GRDA, Oklahoma Blue Thumb, and the Oklahoma Conservation Commission’s Grand Lake Water Quality Project.

This year’s adventure camp takes place July 20th and 21st at the GRDA Ecosystems and Education Center in Langley.

What will the kids be doing during the camp? How about these things:

  • Tour world-famous Pensacola Dam
  • Zip across the lake on the GRDA Eco-lab boat
  • Check for water clarity
  • Learn how to reduce pollution
  • Seine for bugs and fish (also known as looking for indicator species)
  • Build and launch your own miniature raft and document its travels!

The camp is open to children between 9 and 13 years of age. Each child receives a small net, lifejacket, T-shirt, lunch and snacks!

To Register for the camp, have your child(ren) write a 2 paragraph essay on why clean water is important and email to Jeri Fleming at jeri.fleming@conservation.ok.gov.

Limited to the first 25 submittals.
