The Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual golf tournament fundraiser on Monday, October 5th at Patricia Island Golf Club in Grove. The event will get underway with a shotgun start promptly at 1:00 pm.
Chamber Executive Director Rusty Fleming said, “This has always been a significant fundraiser for the chamber while, at the same time, being a lot fun, not only for the team participants, but our sponsors, supporters and volunteers as well. The tournament has been dubbed the Greater Grand Lake Open and we’re exploring ways to recognize the winning team on a lake-wide basis as the cream of the crop when it comes to scramble competition.”
Fleming added, “This will give many of our members and participating teams a first-hand look at the Patricia Island Development and what has been accomplished by the Stewart family and others involved in the project.”
Participation is available on an individual or team basis at $100.00 per player or at $400.00 for a team sponsorship or $450 for a team and hole sponsorship. The entry fee includes green fees, carts and range balls. Area golfers and businesses are encouraged to recruit their very best possible team to claim bragging rights for the next 12 months. Individual participants will be assigned to teams lacking a full complement of players or used to make up additional teams.
The tournament will be organized into an A and B flight with first and second place prizes awarded in each flight. In addition to the flight winners, hole-in-one opportunities will be provided to win some serious prizes as well as the usual longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and longest putt. But most will walk away winners as a host of door prizes will be handed out during the post tournament festivities.
If golf is not your calling, there are sponsorship opportunities available ranging from the prestigious tournament sponsorship recognition to a hole or tee sponsorship.
