Saturday is the big day with the traditional Ice Breaker Poker Run that signals the beginning of the Grand Lake boating season – which is kind of a big deal since there aren’t a lot of Poker Runs on Grand Lake these days.
There are six stops to the poker run: Arrowhead Yacht Club, Cedar Port Marina, Cherokee Yacht Club, Mooney’s Sunset Bar & Grill, Grand Lake Boat Sales and Hammerhead Marina.
Participants pick up one marked poker chip at each stop from 11a.m. to 4p.m.
It’s supposed to be a nice day with temperatures in the mid 60’s a maybe a little breeze (hey, it’s Oklahoma) so there is no reason not to participate.
Unless you’re not 21. Because you must be 21 to participate.
Saturday night will be headlined with the Titanic Dinner, Dance and Awards party at Cherokee Yacht Club.
Don’t worry, this event is open to everyone…you don’t need to be a member of Cherokee to come join the fun.
And if you take part in the poker run, then you need to come to the party anyway to see if you win.
You will be dealt five cards for six stops. But if you made all six stops and have 6 chips, then you will have the option of a discard to draw a bonus card.
All losing hands go in a bucket for the following drawings
(All prizes are non-transferable)
Besides the drawing of the cards, there is a big party at Cherokee this Saturday night that includes live music, a cash bar and a $20 all inclusive ballroom buffet.
Live music, dancing, winning stuff….Welcome Back, indeed!
