Spring is finally coming to Grand Lake and so is the 2014 Grand Lake Boat & Sport Show at the Grove Civic Center.

And as it is every year, the Grand Lake Sail & Power Squadron, a nationwide service and social organization, will be in attendance and visible in several areas of this year’s show.

As part of their commitment to boating safety, squadron members will be fitting children for free life jackets, courtesy of the Grand River Dam Authority.

In addition to that, there will be a fire extinguisher simulation where both children and adults can practice their skills at putting out a fire. This is something that everybody needs to know how to do, even though you always hope it is never needed.

The Power Squadron will also have a table with squadron members who will help attendees of the boat show to sign up for free vessel safety inspections and a place to sign up for a course that stresses boating safety training and operation.

Plus, new this year, the squadron is giving boat show participants the chance to win a drawing for a free safety training course!

It’s time to shake off the winter blahs and get to the 2014¬†Grand Lake Boat & Sport Show.

The Grand Lake Power Squadron is excited to help you have the safest summer boating season ever.
