Are you ready for the World’s Largest Tagged Bass Event? It’s starting, in just a few short weeks, right here at Oklahoma’s own Grand Lake O’ the Cherokee.

The 2014 Grand Lake Extravaganza begins on April 1st and runs through May 18th.

With 500-tagged bass being released into Grand Lake, you can win anything from the top prize of $250,000 on down to a tagged bass being worth a minimum of $50 to you.

The Grand Lake Association is hosting a Kickoff Dinner at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa on March 29th with a reception at 6 pm and dinner at 7 pm. There will be a great meal and Jumpshots will be providing the entertainment throughout the evening.

“We are extremely excited about the Extravaganza and a lot of work has gone into this event and we can’t wait for it to start,” said Tad Jones, Executive Director of the Grand Lake Association.  “The dinner on the 29th will be a lot of fun and we want to invite Grand Lakers to attend this dinner as we kickoff this event.”

Tickets for the opening kickoff dinner are $50 each.

Businesses that would like to sponsor a tagged bass for the Grand Lake Extravaganza can get 2 free tickets to the dinner if the total amount of their sponsorship is $250 or above.  Payouts for fish sponsorship is only made if that tagged fish is caught.

“We already have a number of great prizes being sponsored, but there are still some fish available,” said Jones.

If you are a Grand Lake area business and have been considering sponsoring a fish in the Grand Lake Extravaganza…you’d better hurry. Deadline for sponsoring a fish is Friday, March 21st.

  • $10,000 towards the purchase of a Luxury town home at the Reserve at Grand Lake

  • REC $250

Badges for the Extravaganza can be purchased at the Grand Lake Visitor Center or participating bait and tackle shops for $20.
