You can catch some cash once again as the Grand Lake Association presents the 2nd Annual Grand Lake Extravaganza – The World’s Largest Tagged Bass Event – sponsored by Indigo Sky Casino, which returns to Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees for 2015.
It’s changed a bit this year with cash prizes totaling $55,000 up for grabs – including at least $50 cash per each tagged bass caught – in the event that has been extended and runs from April 1 through October 31.
Each tagged bass turned in gets you $50 upon reporting the catch and tag number and also enters you into all the drawings with a guaranteed total cash give-a-way of $55,000 courtesy of Indigo Sky Casino.
Here’s how that breaks down:
- Grand Prize Winner – $25,000 Guaranteed
- Four $5,000 Winners – Guaranteed
- Five $1,000 Winners – Guaranteed
- Two $2,500 Winners – Guaranteed (Must be present at the banquet for this one)
Complete rules and information are located at the event website HERE so make sure you visit that site for complete details.
GrandLakeLiving.com is not associated with the Grand Lake Extravaganza and is merely just once again working to spread the good word on stuff going on around Grand Lake.
That said, here is what you need to know…
You must be entered prior to catching and turning in a tagged bass. It’s only $20 and you can enter online at the event website here or at one of these Grand Lake area businesses: Pratt Pest Control in Grove, Rib Crib in Grove, Lee’s Resort in Grove, Wyandotte Casino in Wyandotte, Hi-Lift Marina/Grand Lake Boat Sales in Eucha, Outrigger Motel in Grove, Tera Miranda Marina/Resort on Monkey Island or at Honey Creek Outdoors in Grove.
500 tagged bass have been released into Grand Lake by the GLA Fishing Committee in locations scattered all over the lake.
When you catch a tagged bass you can remove the tag and release the fish (you can also do this if you are in a tournament and want to cull your fish). Then call the Grand Lake Association at (918) 786-2289 and give them your tag number.
They will tell you what to do from there!
This is a super cool event that gives you, whether you are an amateur angler or tournament pro, a chance to win big prize money.
And we all know how great Grand Lake is for bass fishing, as evidenced by the recent announcement that the 2016 B.A.S.S. Bassmaster Classic will be returning to Grand Lake for the 2nd time in 4 years.
Plus, just last year Grand Lake was named the top bass lake in Oklahoma and #19 nationally by Bassmaster Magazine.
Besides the Bassmaster Classic, Grand Lake is home to hundreds of fishing tournaments every year, including National Championships for both pro and amateur anglers.
But you don’t need to be a tournament angler to catch yourself some cash in this great event.
The Grand Lake Extravaganza gives everyone a chance to win!
