Here is a Grand Lake fishing report for June 12, 2014, courtesy of Tony Coatney, who also wants to remind you that Father’s Day is this weekend and a gift certificate for a day of fishing makes a perfect gift!
Hello Grand Lakers,
Well, we have finally got some rain. It hasn’t helped my business but we have really needed the rain and it looks like it is settling down just in time. Maybe in a couple weeks we can get some more…we just don’t need it all at one time!
Last weekend I fished the Skeeter XFL and was catching some good fish. But my problem has been getting them in the boat!
Once again we had a monster on and broke it off right at the boat. Every tournament I have fished this year I have had a big fish on that ends up breaking off. Oh well, it will get better.
Large mouth bass have been good on the deeper bite but this last weekend it changed and the fish got in the willows. That is always fun.
White bass has been good with the water coming up there are some around Governors Island. Keep your eye out for them busting the top of the water.
Crappie has been good around the bridges and docks, muddy water will slow them down some.
Catfish are moving into the rocks.
Spoonbill have been jumping every where. Look out!
Check out the picture from the blast off of the XFL Skeeter last weekend at Wolf Creek Park in Grove. If you haven’t ever seen an early morning launch for a big tournament it sure is something to see.
And, of course, don’t forget Fathers Day is this weekend. If your having a problem finding that special gift give me a call at (918) 964-0049. I have gift certificates they can use anytime.
Also I am starting to book trips for this winter to Falcon Lake Texas, so give me a call to make sure you don’t miss out.
Until next time…GOOD LUCK FISHING from Tony Coatney.
