Here is the latest fishing report for Grand Lake from local guide Tony Coatney. Take it away, Tony…
Hello Grand Lakers!
Well the summer is getting near the end – school has started – but we still have Labor Day.
Tonight I noticed that the sun is going down earlier and we are losing day light every day, but its coming time for some more great fishing around Grand Lake.
The temps should start cooling and the white bass should start moving to the windy banks, the large mouth should start on there fall bite and crappie should in the brush piles.
But it doesn’t stop for me, I just move with them.
Then in the winter I move to warmer temps myself and go to Falcon Lake in Texas and chase the trophy large mouth. It will be a great winter because the water is up there also.
Large mouth still catching them on main lake points – big worm, hard head with a bug, big worm.
White bass are still schooling on top water – throwing a spoon yes the silver rainbow minnow at Littlefield’s Sports.
Crappie should be in brush piles.
Catfish – I can’t keep them off me while catching whites.
And the spoonbill are still jumping!
I booked a couple more trips this week for Falcon Lake – they are going fast better hurry going to be a great winter in Texas.
Until next time…Good Luck Fishing with Tony Coatney.
