Here is the latest Grand Lake fishing report, courtesy of local guide Tony Coatney:

Hello Grand Lakers!

Well its been hot and going to stay hot and what that means to me is the fishing is going to get hotter!

Everyone always says it’s to hot to catch fish, but that is not true. The hotter it gets the better the fishing because it bunches them up and when you find them its crazy.

Like last week…it was hot and it has bunched them up.

And it is also that time of the year that a lot of the big fishing tournaments are over until fall.

Large mouth – with the water falling and the hot weather the large mouth should be getting in the deep brush piles, try a big worm or swim baits.

White bass – the mornings are tough but the evenings have been unreal! They are schooling on top…try the spoon silver rainbow minnow, and the firecracker.

Crappie should be around bridges and deep brush piles.

Catfish should be about done spawning try jugs. Also hearing they are being caught a bunch on minnows right now.

Spoonbill are jumping everywhere.

Don’t forget you can book trips for this winter on Falcon Lake, Texas and the lake is almost normal should be a great winter.

Until next time, Good Luck Fishing from Tony Coatney. 918-964-0049
