Here is the latest fishing report from local guide and professional Tony Coatney.

With the weather being up and down, it sounds like the fishing is doing the same.

Here’s Tony…

Hello Grand Lakers!

Well, its been hot but not hot enough. It needs to stay hot! All this up and down weather does nothing but mess the fishing up.

July bass fishing Grand Lake

The bass fishing always heats up at Grand Lake in July. Photo courtesy of Tony Coatney.

I know its going to cool down again this week and that doesn’t help the fishing at all.

Large mouth have been really good. The big ones have been biting Biffle Bugs, Shaky Heads, and Big Worms. Should be some big fish caught at this weekends Big Bass Bash at Grand Lake.

White bass have been off and on. Every time you think you get them figured out they move. Spoons and the silver rainbow minnows works best – nothing like it to catch the whites.

Lots of good reports on crappie. People are catching a bunch of good fish in the boat docks all over the lake.

Catfish are still in the rocks and the spoonbill keep jumping, so look out!

Also, be sure to check out my every day blogs on my new web site at http://www.grandfishingwithtonycoatney.com/

And, I’m also booking up trips to Falcon Lake in Texas this winter. Those trips are going fast.

Until next time, GOOD LUCK FISHING!
