The Grand Lake community, which ranges far and wide, is heartbroken today with the loss of 2 young lives.
It just makes me sad. Why does this kind of stuff happen?
You won’t see any pictures on here or hear me blame anyone or anything else like that.
I just wanted to tell the world that this makes me sad. Real sad.
We can protect our kids and shelter our kids and do everything that seems physically and emotionally possible to ensure that our kids grow up and have all their dreams come true.
But sometimes, it’s just out of our control. And that’s what makes me sad.
I’m calling these two young people that lost their lives kids. I think they were in there 20’s. It doesn’t matter. Hell, I’m 45 and still think I’m a kid. And I act that way sometimes too.
And that’s the thing. No matter what we do, kids are going to do things…like go boating at Grand Lake with their friends.
Nobody went out on Grand Lake on a quiet Tuesday in May looking for harm or looking to do harm to others. Nobody.
But, harm came their way. And that’s what makes me sad.
As parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, friends…sometimes there is just nothing we can do to protect our loved ones.
And that’s why all of Grand Lake is sad today.
