You feel that? Doesn’t it feel good? That’s called sunshine…and it’s making a return to Grand Lake!
Just in time for a busy Grand Lake weekend with a boat show, the first poker run of the season and much more on tap.
Don’t forget also that this is spring forward weekend…so whether you look at it like losing an hour of sleep or gaining an hour of playtime…you’re right!
So let’s get right to it…here’s what on tap this weekend at Grand Lake:
- Grand Lake Boat Show takes over the Grove Civic Center on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Again this year there will be free life jackets for the first 250 kids, plus a wide variety of boats available for sale, lake accessories, giveaways and all sorts of local vendors. Go HERE for more details or just head to the Grove Civic Center this weekend. You’ll be glad you did!
- Ice Breaker Poker Run – The first poker run of 2015 kicks of the boating season on Saturday. It’s free to enter – just be at Hookers at Cherokee Yacht Club at 11 am on Saturday and you’ll get all the details. First place is a $2,500 trip voucher plus there are other great prizes, including for the ‘bad hands’. You will need to at least stop by Cherokee Yacht Club on Saturday night starting at 6 pm to turn in your cards and see if you are a winner. For more details call (918) 782-3292.
- Welcome Back Weekend – The Ice Breaker Poker Run is just a part of the Welcome Back Weekend festivities taking place at Cherokee Yacht Club. All events are open to the public – from the Friday evening cocktail party to the full day of events on Saturday and the Survivor’s Brunch on Sunday morning. For more information call (918) 782-3292.
- World Famous Ol’ Coots Talent – No Talent Contest & Kroak-Off at Big Shots Rhythm & Booze on Monkey Island. This legendary event was rescheduled from last weekend, when cold and snow stole the show. That’s not a worry this weekend!
That’s just the big stuff!
Of course, there will be live music all over the lake, many many fish caught, golf balls hit and people just soaking up that sunshine.
Isn’t it crazy how 60 degrees can feel like 80 degrees sometimes?
That’s what it will feel like this weekend at Grand Lake…
