The gray days of February are in full swing at Grand Lake, but don’t let that stop you from getting out there and making it a great weekend.

There are plenty of options – from great live music to a fun-filled fundraiser – plus the usual things that make Grand Lake so great this time of year…the fishing, the quiet, the relaxation.

So, here’s a quick rundown of what’s on tap this weekend at Grand Lake:

  • Live Music at Pickles in Langley – Friday night, Feb 20th is Grand Lake’s own Amazing Don White and Saturday night the 21st is Tulsa Legend Jim Sweeney. Come on out and support live music!
  • ‘The Lion in Winter’ at Playmakers in Grove takes the stage on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. It’s always great to support local artists, and the Grove Playmaker’s are among the best in the region. For more details or to make reservations visit their website at http://www.groveplaymakers.com/.
  • Mardi Paws Benefit at Big Shots on Monkey Island on Saturday the 21st – This annual event (OK, it’s a Party!) benefits the Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake in Grove. Always a fun time with the Mardi Gras them and cajun style buffet, you will also enjoy live music and dancing throughout the evening plus have the opportunity to bid on some great silent auction items, including passes to the 2015 PGA Championship in Wisconsin and a wine-filled weekend for two to Napa Valley. Make sure to get your tickets ahead of time as this often sells out. You can purchase tickets at Second Chance Thrift Shop at 220 E. 3rd in Grove or visit their website: http://www.doitforthepets.com.

So there you have it. See…there is plenty going on around Grand Lake…even on a gray and chilly February weekend.
