Never allow anyone to “bow ride” on your boat.

People straddling the bow, with legs dangling over the gunwale are in danger of falling overboard.

Even sitting or standing too close to the front on a pontoon boat can be dangerous.

A person can easily be unseated by an unexpected wake or wave and thrown overboard, run over by the boat and mangled or killed by the propeller.

Boat Smart from the start and take a boating course.

The United States Power Squadrons offers many courses such as weather, seamanship, navigation, marine mechanics and marine electronics.
