GLOC Shootout Returns To Grove July 7 – 10

Are you ready for more boats, more fun and more SPEED?

Then make plans now to be at Grand Lake July 7th through the 10th for the return of ‘Speed Week’ on Grand Lake and the 2016 GLOC Shootout presented by Grand Lake Casino.

Other major event sponsors include FloatingMats.com, DCB Boats and Cat’s Ass, Poly-Lift Boat Lifts, Speed Shop Marine, GrandLakeLiving.com, the Grand Lake Association, TravelOK.com, 99.3 KGVE, and Goldner Co.

Last year’s Shootout brought a new level of speed and performance boating to Grand Lake, but year 2 is going to take it to a whole new level with 4 days of extreme events in Grove.

Remember…all activities are free and open to the public…no excuses. Come on out!

Things get started on Thursday, July 7th, with a ‘Street Party’ to be held at the Grand Lake Casino parking lot on Highway 10 North of Grove.2016 GLOC Shootout Event Poster

This is the perfect opportunity to see many of the participating boats up close and personal and to meet the people who own and drive these sweet machines.

With many of last year’s teams returning, plus over a dozen new boats already confirmed, there are going to be some awesome boats on display and plenty of fun to be had at the Street Party.

Friday, everything moves to Lakeside Bar and Grill and Marina located at the South end of Sailboat Bridge in Grove.

All weekend long at Lakeside you will find vendors, the Vintage by the Creek trailers and some of the best food trucks around offering a wide variety of great eats. Of course, cold beverages will be available throughout the event at Lakeside Marina as well.

Friday’s festivities include an ‘Extreme Machine Car Show’ that will show off some of the most impressive and extreme vehicles on dry land, plus, a “Cruisin’ The Dock Party” with live music from ‘Old Boots – New Dirt’.

The “Cruisin’ The Dock Party” is your chance to see the boats in their element (the water) from the top down and another great chance to meet the teams and talk to the drivers.

And then on Saturday, July 9th, grab your shorts and make sure your sunglasses don’t go flying off your head because it’s time to watch these boats go FAST!

Saturday features a full day of racing from 11 am to 5 pm. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see a map of the GLOC Race Course.

KGVE 99.3 FM will be live from the race course with former Grand Laker Mr. Bob May from the Bob’s No Wake Zone Radio Show at Lake of the Ozarks and Mr. Shane Sherman from Miami Florida doing the broadcasting and telling you everything you need to know about the boats, the drivers and their speeds.

The GLOC Shootout this year will be run on the newly designed FasTrac™ course that will provide two full miles of spectator viewing on the water plus great views to those watching from Lakeside Marina, along Hwy 59, up on Sailboat Bridge, or even those folks lucky enough to have lakefront houses in that area.

Plus, at Lakeside Marina, there will be a huge, mobile Jumbo-Tron streaming race information, TV’s inside the marina Bar and Grill will be streaming the same info, Goodfellas Pizza selling slices and whole pies, and The Cherokee Queen will be open with cool drinks, air conditioning and awesome views from the top of the Queen. 2016 GLOC Shootout Schedule of Events

It’s going to be a great big festival!

Saturday night the fun doesn’t stop as there will be live music from local favorites Brett and Terri, plus a ‘Best of the Best’ Contest where you will have a chance to vote for your favorite boats in different categories.

And of course more great food and refreshments, vendors and fun, so bring your lawn chairs and make a day of it.

Come Sunday the fun doesn’t stop! It will be another full day of racing starting at 10 am and ending at 4 pm.

These performance boat teams don’t care if it’s Saturday or Sunday…they just want to go FAST!

After the racing concludes on Sunday, there will be an Awards Ceremony for all the teams at 5 pm at Lakeside Marina.
