2020 Ales and Tails Crawfish and Red Dirt Festival
The date has been set for Oklahoma’s largest crawfish and Red Dirt festival – Saturday, June 27th – so save the date because it’s a party you don’t want to miss.
Plans are to move this year’s festival out of the mud, so organizers are currently searching for a new location. They will announce it and the time of the event at a later date.
A fundraiser for the Vinita Rotary Club, Ales & Tails Crawfish and Red Dirt Festival is one of the most popular events in northeast Oklahoma. It’s a giant party that features heaping plates of crawfish and live music by some of the biggest names in the Red Dirt genre, as well as games and craft vendors from all over the state.
Reckless Kelly, Mike McClure, Stoney LaRue, Jason Boland and The Stragglers, Micky & the Motorcars, Cameran Nelson and Whiskey Poet Society are just some of the acts who have appeared on the Ales & Tails Crawfish and Red Dirt Festival stage in recent years.
Performers for the 2020 festival will soon be announced. Festival organizers promise this year’s musical lineup will once again feature some of the hottest artists in the Red Dirt music scene.
For the tastiest part of the evening, the Vinita Rotary Club brings in piles of live Louisiana crawfish, which will be boiled Cajun-style with potatoes and corn. You’ll want to bring your appetite in order to tackle the two-pound servings of crawfish.
For those who aren’t mudbug aficionados, there will be fried catfish with hush puppies and fried potatoes on the side.
Tickets for both the concert and meal will go on sale in a couple of months.
Festival camping and VIP packages will also be available for this year’s event.
All proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the Vinita Rotary Club’s Scholarship Foundation.
