The Grove Area Chamber of Commerce would like to invite everyone to this year’s Grove Gingerbread Christmas Festival and Lighted Christmas Parade, to be held on Saturday, December 8th with activities on Grove’s Community Lawn in addition to the parade.
The fun kicks off for the day at 8 am with the Jingle Bell 5K Fun Run, starting and ending at the Community Lawn.
Registrations will be accepted until 7:30 am on race day. Entry fee is just $30. Early Bird Registrations before November 27th save $5 and include a Jingle Bell 5K Fun Run t-shirt.
5K winners will be recognized after the run. First, Second and Third place winners in each division will be awarded medals.
Awards will also be given for best male and female costumes.
The Jingle Bell 5K Fun Run is sponsored by Delaware County TSET.
The fun continues on Grove’s Community Lawn beginning at 4 pm with live holiday music performed by David Bridges and Coyote Hill Bluegrass.
Be sure to wear your ugliest Christmas sweater, too, as there will be an Ugly Sweater Contest at 5:30 pm to crown Grand Lake’s Ugliest Christmas Sweater!
Following the Ugly Sweater Contest, at 5:45 pm the winner will be drawn for this year’s One Grand Christmas promotion – where one lucky Grove shopper will win $1,000.
Sponsors for One Grand Christmas are BOLT Fiber Optic Services, Grand Country Pest Control, and Grand Savings Bank.
The grand finale for the festivities will be the Annual Lighted Christmas Parade beginning at 6:00 pm.
This year’s parade theme is “Christmas at the Lake” and the route will begin at the Grove Civic Center, head down Main Street to 3rd Street, and conclude at Cheapo Depo.
Also at the festival will be Ginger Jake’s Gourmet Hot Dogs, a local favorite with their unusual and tasty gourmet hot dogs, and kettlecorn benefitting Cornerstone Church.
A complete schedule of festivities can be found at www.groveok.org or the Grove Area Chamber Facebook page.
