The 2013 Ugly John’s Poker Run at Grand Lake is Saturday June 22nd, and this time, the focus is squarely on Grand Lake and helping fellow Oklahomans!
This year’s Poker Run is officially called the 2013 Red Cross, Helping the Heartland to Help the Oklahoma Tornado Victims Poker Run, (FYI, that’s a link to Facebook) presented by Ugly John’s Marina at Grand Lake.
So that right there should tell you everything you need to know. Oklahomans helping Oklahomans…
For the first time in years, this Grand Lake tradition will focus on the Grand Lake and Oklahoma boater…with all shapes and sizes of Grand Lake boats encouraged to enter.
It doesn’t matter how big, how small, how fast or how slow you take to the waters of Grand Lake. Bass boat to cruiser, deck boat to performance. It just doesn’t matter…
What matters is that you join this year’s fun, which has an incredibly low entry fee of only $100, and that you have a fun filled day on Grand Lake while helping our fellow Oklahomans who have been impacted by the devastating tornadoes in the Oklahoma City area.
Here are the details…
- Registration gets under way at Ugly’s Grill & Bar at 9am on Saturday morning, June 22nd.
- The Poker Run takes off at 10am from Ugly’s. Don’t worry…it’s not a race!
- Cash prizes and trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
For those that aren’t that experienced with poker runs…this event is a great way to get started while supporting a great cause.
And remember, prizes aren’t awarded for how quick you get back to Ugly’s…it’s all about the cards you collect on the poker run that make up the best poker hand. Best hand wins…just like in Vegas! (uhh, or Ottawa County!)
But, that’s not all….
Oh no, Ugly’s takes is a step further with Elvis impersonator Brent Giddons taking the stage at Ugly’s Bar on Saturday night!
The King lives on! Right here at Grand Lake!
So, an awesome fun filled day on Grand Lake while supporting our neighbors in their recovery from the tornadoes. It doesn’t get any better than that!
