It’s time once again for the “Lend a Hand to Lady Grand” Grand Lake shoreline cleanup this Saturday, June 23, 2012.
This is a great program put on by GRDA to clean up the lake. Most of the visitors, and even the residents that live in the many coves, don’t see all the debris that finds it’s way to the main parts of the lake on a regular basis.
This annual event dates back to 2005 and is primarily intended for dock Styrofoam and other debris. However, this does NOT include tree limbs, tires, batteries, household garbage or any other crap you having laying around the house and want to get rid of. It is also not for commercial dumping of any dock materials or the like.
So, let’s use it as it’s intended, OK. Let’s clean this lake up a bit.
There will be 3 large roll-off dumpsters set at central locations around the lake from 9am to 2pm. Those locations are:
- Ketchum Church of Christ
- Bernice State Park
- Grove Springs Park
GRDA is offering free trash bags and gloves to any civic and church groups who want to help. If everyone chips in, it sure goes along way to keeping Grand Lake safer and cleaner for everyone to enjoy.
