Rush For Brush
Because of bad weather earlier in the year, there is another Rush for Brush event scheduled for this Saturday, October 11th, at the GRDA Ecosystems & Education Center in Langley starting at 9 am.
This event – which is put on by GRDA and helps area fishermen build fish habitats – has been a great success with many ‘proven’ stories of fish populations being enhanced…particularly for crappie…as evidenced by the fish being caught were past Rush for Brush structures have been placed.
The ‘brush’ that is being built this time around is being constructed a bit differently, with PVC pipe and flexible black piping so that it is not necessary to use concrete and cinderblocks anymore.
That means that those that volunteer on Saturday will be able to take their new fish habitats home – or to their favorite Lake Hudson or Grand Lake fishing hole – on Saturday.
Supplies are limited for the building of the habitats, so make sure to call Jacklyn Jaggars at (918) 256-0723 if you want to attend.

Car show registration begins at 9 am, with the judging ending at 2 pm and then the awards presentation at 3 pm followed by the legendary ‘Cruise Down Route 66’.
