After the first really cool and damp weekend of the fall last weekend, we’re all signed up for a beautiful weekend at Grand Lake with dry weather and temperatures in the 70’s.
The lake came up fast after all the rain last week – unofficially 7″ of rain in Langley – and the spillways are open, so be careful on the lake.
But it’s still great fishing and it will be perfect boating weather this weekend as well.
Plus, there will be a little breeze throughout the weekend, great for sailing, which brings me to…
Grand Lake Sailing Club’s Fall Grand Cup Regatta

Second Hand Thrift Shop Garage Sale
From 10 am to 5 pm both Friday and Saturday it’s the Second Hand Thrift Shop Garage Sale with all proceeds going to benefit the Rescue Shelter of Grand Lake.
The sale is located at the Second Hand Thrift Shop location at 220 E. 3rd St in Grove. Donations of gently used clothing, furniture and artwork are welcome.
South Grand Lake Lions Yard Sale and Pancake Breakfast
Starting at 7 am on Saturday the 18th, the South Grand Lake Lions Club hosts it’s annual yard sale – billed as the largest yard sale at Grand Lake.
This year’s sale will be held at the old Langley School Building located in front of City Hall, with all proceeds going to support the South Grand Lake Meals on Wheels program.
They will be accepting donations from 8 am to 4 pm on Friday, so if you have ‘stuff’ you would like to clean out and donate to a good cause, drop it by.
As part of the fun, there is also a pancake breakfast that will be going on from 7 am to 11 am with pancakes, sausage and a drink – all you can eat – for only $5 with kids under 5 free.
Come on out to Langley this Saturday and support a great cause!
3rd Annual Grand Lake Women’s Expo
From 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, Oct 18th, all are invited to attend and take part in the 3rd annual Grand Lake Women’s Expo at the Grove Civic Center.
There will be more than 35 non-profits and vendors on hand to provide information and demonstrations throughout the day.
Included is everything from cake decorating demo to fitness clinics to gun safety and breast cancer information plus other educational presentations, demonstrations, shopping, a fashion show, music, and much more, with door prizes every hour and food available all day from ‘Santa’s Old Broads’.
As you can see…there is always something going on around Grand Lake.
So get out there and support a local cause, stay away from the sailboats, and be sure to support your local Grand Lake restaurants and businesses!
