Time To Plan A Fall Getaway To Grove and Grand Lake

With cooler temperatures, changing leaves, and a whole bunch of special events – now is the time to start thinking about a fall getaway to Grand Lake and Grove.

Of course, that means you will need to find a place to stay at Grand Lake, and you can do that HERE.

Golf Grand Lake

Shangri-La Sunset at Grand Lake

Cool, crisp autumn days are ideal for enjoying a day on the links at Grand Lake – Oklahoma’s top golf destination.

Challenging and well-maintained courses, beautiful lake views, and first-class amenities make Grand Lake one of the best places to get away for a golf outing in Mid-America.

Two popular courses – Shangri La Golf Club, Resort & Marina and Patricia Island Country Club – offer special “Golf Grand Lake” packages for duffers.

More information on these packages and the courses can be found at www.GolfGrandLake.com.

Beautiful Fall Drives

The Ozarks’ colorful fall foliage is world-class and, combined with some of Oklahoma’s most scenic drives, makes Grove & Grand Lake the ideal hub for “leaf peepers” in the Four State region.

Har-Ber Village, Lendonwood Gardens, and Honey Creek State Park are three great places to enjoy fall colors in Grove and scenic drives in all directions provide countless opportunities to those wanting to enjoy the beauty of autumn in the Ozarks.

Here is an article from a few years ago with some info on some great fall drives around Grand Lake.

The Return of the Pelicans

Grove & Grand Lake is known far and wide as a great destination for birders – and especially in fall with the return of the pelicans.

In fact, Grove’s Lendonwood Gardens was recently ranked as one of the top 5 birding spots in Oklahoma.

While there are many birds to see at the lake, pelicans are the big stars during the fall.

So big, in fact, that Grove hosts a Pelican Festival each October.

The 2019 festival will be October 11-12 at Wolf Creek Park and will feature carnival rides, food trucks, arts & crafts vendors, and live music.

You can find more details on the festival HERE.

In addition, Grove’s Grand Lake Queen riverboat is planning a number of pelican cruises during that time – so what a fun, unique way to explore Grand Lake and see the pelicans and other waterfowl!

Downtown Grove – Small Town America at its Finest

Downtown Grove – also known as the Grove Springs Cultural District – offers a slice of true Americana with many quaint shops, galleries, and restaurants.

Take in live music on the patio of a local restaurant or on the Community Lawn at one of the popular Food Truck Friday events.

Stroll through the Grove Farmers’ Market – a producers’ only market where everything is made or grown locally.

Check the Grove calendar of events at GroveOK.org to learn more about popular autumn events in Grove’s Downtown area to include plays at the Grove Playmakers Theater, the Merchants’ Fall Open House, and the Grove Springs Arts Festival.

Festivals and Events Throughout The Fall

From major bass fishing tournaments to festivals celebrating the history and cultural heritage of the Grand Lake area, there are many great things to see and do in Grove & Grand Lake each weekend during the fall months.

As one of America’s top bass fishing lakes, top anglers will be fishing Grand’s waters at major fishing events all autumn long, to include the Bassmaster Open, FLW Costa, Bass Fishing League, and other major regional tournaments.

Har-Ber Village will be hosting special events to include the popular Pioneer Days and Cherokee Heritage Days.

And the first weekend of October, the Spyders are coming to Grove for the Green Country Spyder Jamboree for a weekend full of fun, great rides, and festivities.

Halloween Fun and Festivities

Fall also brings a number of fun Halloween-themed events and activities to
Grove & Grand Lake.

Kids and parents alike will enjoy the Grove Merchants’ Daytime Trick or Treat in Downtown Grove.

New this year is “Ghosts of Grove – A Haunted History Tour,” with spooky trolley tours both the Friday and Saturday prior to Halloween, sharing some of the darker secrets and spooky history of this corner of the Ozarks.
