An escorted boat parade will lead boats from the Civic Center to Wolf Creek Park Saturday for the event.

An awards ceremony will be held Saturday evening at the Civic Center following the shootout.

The public is invited to the awards ceremony so they can watch their favorite driver win!!

Awards for the fastest on the water will include trophies, certificates, weekend stays at Grand Lake, and/or coupons to return to the Grand Lake area.

Grove residents Ken and Linda Little with Marine Tec, Inc. have been working tirelessly and were recently given approval from the GRDA and the City of Grove for a GLOC (Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees) Performance Boat Challenge Shootout launching out of Wolf Creek Park, in Grove Oklahoma. Team Motion Grand Lake Shootout

An Executive Committee has been meeting over the last several months to execute the event. The Executive Committee is made up of Marty Follis, mayor of Grove, Jon and Angela Good with Good Watercraft, Mark and Cindy Rosellini and Joe Petrusa of Grove, Shaun Little of Miami, Florida and Brock Sutherland of Parsons, Kansas.

Several World class offshore racing teams, up to 50 foot in length and capable of speeds approaching 150 to 200 mph from across the US have expressed interest in visiting Grand Lake to compete in a radar run Challenge.

But don’t let that stop YOU as any powerboat 24 foot or longer can participate. We strongly encourage local boat owners to enter the challenge.

The total number of boats expected is between 50 and 100 when you combine the local boaters with the performance boats that will be visiting.

Sponsorship opportunities are available and all money left over after expenses will be distributed to local charities. Liquid Marine Grand Lake Shootout

“Good Watercraft is happy to work with Marine Tec, Inc. on this event. We are really excited about bringing these boats to Grand Lake, we look forward to a bigger event year after year.” Jon and Angela Good.

GLOC Performance Boat Challenge Shootout hopes to provide a fun, safe, family oriented event that brings out of town drivers and spectators alike to enjoy Grand Lake.

With the event we hope to introduce the drivers to the love we all share for Grand Lake and that they become lifetime Grand Lakers!

The entire Grand Lake area has so much to offer from upscale hospitality, to friendly locally owned businesses.

The entire Executive Committee is proud of Grand Lake and we are busting at the seams with excitement awaiting the arrival of our out of town guests.

Details are evolving daily, so be on the lookout for updates. Liquid Marine

The course is just to the south and west of Sailboat Bridge in Grove. There will be a large area along the course for boats to anchor and take in the challenge. Many of the boats coming for the challenge will be here for several days, so I’m sure they will be making runs to the South and and the dam…but the actual event is taking place in Grove. There are also event maps and complete details on the GLOC Website at http://glocshootout.com.

Will there be a seperate classes (divisions), like based on size, power, pro, amateur etc.?

Dont laugh but i think it would be cool to include a division for pontoons. There are some really powerful ones these days.
