Celtic Day at Har-Ber Village

Har-Ber Village Museum in Grove Oklahoma, on the shores of Grand Lake is hosting a Celtic Day event on Saturday April 5, 2025, with the collaboration of The Scottish Club of Tulsa.

This event will be educating the community and guests on how Celtic music shaped and influenced modern day Bluegrass music.

We will start the day with an educational talk on this subject, to be repeated in the afternoon.

Following this there will be a Harpist playing, out in the Village there will be timed performances by Tulsa Pipes (bagpipes) and Drums, a Celtic Fiddler, Scottish Highland Clan encampments that welcome you inside to learn about their genealogy and how the family came to America, Highland Athletics demonstrations hosted by the Tulsa Celtic Throwers, educational talk about the Scottish in the Americas, a wool spinner educating on the types of wool from the Celtic lands, the Gallery in the Visitor Center will host a Celtic Barber Shop Quartet, out by our parking lot you will find and old time carnival with games and face painting, and so much more!

Sunday April 6, 2025, is National Tartan Day! Amazingly enough Sunday April 6, 2025, is the 704^th Anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath.

This is the Scottish Declaration of Independence sent to the Pope demanding the recognition of independence and demanding protection from the papacy. This was a pivotal turning point in history that led to other historic documents to come later.
