Once again, Grand Lake has been highlighted in a national publication for the outstanding bass fishing at Grand Lake.
This time, it’s USA Today, which featured the article ‘10 Great Places to Go Bass Fishing‘ in it’s August 1st travel and destinations section.
This is all part of USA Today’s series of ’10 Great Places to ____’ which features great places to do all sorts of things all over the country.
And it’s always nice to see what we already knew…that Grand Lake is a great bass fishing destination.

This impoundment of Grand River was the host of the 2013 Bassmaster Classic, which is considered the Super Bowl of competitive bass fishing. “It’s a lake that is very generous to newbie anglers. You don’t have to know a great deal to be able to have the day of your life fishing,” Hall says. “It’s in a very healthy moment of its life cycle, so the bass fishing is really, really good right now.”
And what they say is true…Grand Lake really is a great place for anglers of all abilities to have a great day. Beginners to experts can find exactly what they are looking for out there.
Also nice to see the acknowledgement that the lake is in a healthy place right now.
This speaks to the work being done by GRDA as well as all of the local fishing experts who work tirelessly to keep people informed about ways to keep the fish population healthy and thriving.
