Goooood Morning!

Well, we’ve officially traded “Sunshine and Happiness” for Standard Time, and it’s dark by suppertime. But the fall color is still hanging on around the lake, so if you can get out on the water this weekend, do it before everything goes full Charlie Brown Christmas tree on us.

The weekend looks cool and pleasant, with highs in the low 60s and lows dipping into the low 40s. Jacket weather at night, perfect weather for a stroll through downtown Grove during the day.

And it’s a busy one! The Christmas shopping season kicks off with the Grove Merchants Christmas Open House and the Sleigh Bells Market, the Playmakers wrap up their Around the World cabaret series, Har-Ber Village closes out its season, and there’s a fall fest, and a cultural celebration in Ketchum too.

Let’s get to it! Here is what you need to know for THIS Weekend at Grand Lake:

🚤 This Weekend at Grand Lake

Lake Level – The lake level as of 8 am is 742.2’ with [generation status]. Lake temps are dropping into the low 60s and upper 50s with the cooler temps.

Two Lanes on the Causeway! – The new Monkey Island causeway bridge is open, both lanes. A little striping and some work on the approaches are still left, but no more single-lane waiting. (And they said it couldn’t happen!)

Christmas Open House in Grove – The Grove Merchants Christmas Open House runs Friday and Saturday. It’s the unofficial start of holiday shopping in town, so make a day of it downtown and see what the shops have going on.

Playmakers Cabaret: Around the World Part III – The Grove Playmakers make the final stop on their Around the World cabaret tour Friday at 7:30 PM. Cover is $20 per adult, and all purchases are donations to the Playmakers. If you’ve been to the earlier cabarets, bring your passport along! First Friday Wine Share – Banks & Company in Grove hosts First Friday Wine Share on Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

Last Call at Har-Ber Village – Friday is Oklahoma Historical Day at Har-Ber Village, and then Saturday is the last day of the season. Well, until Santa’s Ozark Mountain Village. If you haven’t made it out this year, this is your chance.

Sleigh Bells Market – Saturday from 9:00 to 5:00 at the Wolf Creek Expo Center in Grove. Holiday vendors, gifts, and a good excuse to check a few names off the list early.

Zena Fall Fest – Car show, chili cookoff, crafters, and vendors Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Zena Community Center. (Come hungry for the chili.)

Community Cultural Day in Ketchum – The Native American Association of Ketchum invites everyone out Saturday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM for an afternoon of culture, food, and community. The Rising Buffalo Dancers will perform as they celebrate and share Native American heritage. All are welcome.

🍽️ Dining Update – The Fire Pit Restaurant from Wildwood Cove Resort has moved into Grove (the old Speedy’s Chophouse spot) and now serves alcohol. Bobber’s Café & Fresh Market has opened a second location in Bernice, opening at 7:00 AM. Pour Chaos in Langley is just waiting on a final fire inspection, so it should be open very soon. VIP Pizza, Blind Swine Duck Creek and The Quarterdeck at Tera Miranda are now closed for the season.

🇺🇸 Looking Ahead: Veterans Day Ceremony – Join the community Wednesday, November 11 at 10:00 AM at the Veterans Honor Plaza, 145 Cherokee Ave in Langley, to remember and honor those who served.
